Eligibility

The Challenge is open to students in Years 9-12 who are currently enrolled in a secondary school in Ghana or Nigeria.

Participants must have the endorsement of their school to apply.

Employees of the organizing entities, their family members, or anyone else connected to the Challenge may not enter.

Entry Requirement

Entries must be the original work of the participants and not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party. Participants must obtain all necessary permissions for any third-party content included.

Entries must align with the Challenge’s theme of climate action and technology and must be aimed at addressing a specific aspect of climate change.

Each participant or team can submit only one entry. Multiple entries from the same participant or team will result in disqualification.

Submission

All entries must be submitted through the official submission portal by the stated deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.

Submissions must include a project proposal, a video pitch (if required), and any other documents specified in the application guide.

The organizing entity reserves the right to publish, display, or use submitted entries for promotional purposes.

Judging and Awards

Entries will be judged based on criteria including innovation, impact, feasibility, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are non-transferable.

Data Protection and Intellectual Property

Personal information provided by participants will be used solely in connection with the Challenge and will not be disclosed to a third party without the participant’s explicit consent.

Participants retain ownership of their projects but grant the organizing entity a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and publicly display their submissions for promotional purposes related to the Challenge

Liability

The organizing entity accepts no responsibility for entries not received for any reason.

The organizing entity is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Challenge.

Changes and Cancellation

The organizing entity reserves the right to cancel or amend the Challenge and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the Challenge will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the organizing entity.

Acceptance

Participation in the Challenge constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. Participants are advised to print and keep a copy of these terms and conditions for future reference.

Governing Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Federal Republic of Nigeria Law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
